Get to know Dr. Justin James
Justin James, DC is a chiropractor whose work sits at the intersection of holistic health, functional healing, and human optimization. With over two decades of hands-on experience, he has dedicated his career to helping families thrive through natural, patient-centered care.
His path into chiropractic began long before he entered the profession. Growing up in Texas and later in Macon, GA, he spent much of his childhood navigating recurrent health challenges that led to multiple surgeries, allergy treatments, and rounds of antibiotics. Those experiences sparked a sense that conventional solutions didn’t always tell the whole story—and stirred a curiosity about alternative approaches to healing. Around the same time, he discovered an innate ability to work with his hands to help others feel better. A psychiatrist and family friend eventually suggested chiropractic, a moment of influence that set Justin’s career in motion.
Once in chiropractic college in Atlanta, Dr. James dove in fully. He wasn’t just there for coursework—he joined clubs, trained with mentors, traveled to seminars, and immersed himself in emerging work in spinal correction, nutrition, pediatrics, performance, and functional medicine. He and his peers often crossed the country to work directly with leading clinicians, shaping a lens on health that was proactive rather than reactive.
After earning his degree, he spent several years working in diverse clinical settings before founding his first practice in Summerville, where he served the community for 15 years. When he later sold the clinic, he took a two-year sabbatical to travel, reflect, and recalibrate. The experience affirmed what had always been true: chiropractic wasn’t just his career—it was his calling. He returned to practice with a renewed perspective and a deeper sense of purpose.
Today, Dr. James focuses on family chiropractic care with a strong emphasis on prenatal and pediatric health. His work centers around supporting long-term wellness, resilient nervous systems, and healthier adaptations at every life stage.
Outside the clinic, Dr. James is the father of four, an accomplished musician who records and performs both solo and with local bands, and an outdoor enthusiast with a love of antique car and motorcycle restoration. When he’s not working with patients, there’s a good chance he’s in nature, in his studio, or under the hood of a vintage machine.
